My dream a few nights ago featured Cain Hargreaves, Lina Inverse, and the Ninth Doctor flying around in the TARDIS, having crazy adventures. It was awesome. I really wish I hadn't woken up when I did, because they were in the middle of something really cool

So, Monday was my birthday. I'm now nineteen. (I am accepting late birthday presents, by the way. Heh.) Got much cool stuff, not the least of which was the fanart
tekararogue made for my 18th birthday (only took her a year). I'll show it too you all, if she emails me a smaller version.
Got the seventh volume of noir, the sixth volume of Samurai Champloo, and Doctor Who: The Complete First Series (except it isn't the first series, so I'm confused, but oh well), several CDs, the second Hellsing manga, the ninth and tenth Yami no Matsuei manga, the second +Anima manga, the V for Vendetta comic, and a handful of other things.
All that new stuff can only mean one thing: fannish rambling.
I didn't enjoy the second +Anima as much as a thought I would, mainly because there wasn't nearly enough of it. Two thirds of it is taken up by prototype stories that I didn't enjoy nearly as much. Cooro should not be threatening to cut somebody's nose off. That boy doesn't have a violent bone in his body. I guess I'll just have to wait until the third volume comes out to really get my fix.
Conversely, I'm enjoying the YnM Gensoukai arc much more than I thought I would. I bought it because it felt wrong not owning all of YnM, but I'm really enjoying it. Hisoka's not acting nearly as stupid as I was under the impression he would. He's not making great decisions, but I find them understandable. Oh, and Sohryuu is an ass. I don't like him at all.
I do wish we got to see more of the Kamakura story line. The Kurosaki family is so deliciously fucked up.
V for Vendetta? Very good. I wasn't expecting any less.
I was nervous about buying Hellsing, as I hadn't decided whether or not I liked it, but I figured I couldn't know unless I read more. The conclusion? I do indeed like Hellsing. Glad we got that settled.
As for Doctor Who... yum. So much fun. I saw four episodes on the Scifi chanel, and became infatuated. I'm a little intimidated by the the series in general (forty years of canon? Sheesh), but I mainly just concentrate on the one season I'm familiar with, and enjoy.
As for life outside of fandom (yes, I do indeed have one)...
I had a psych exam on Wednesday. I didn't do very well. Maybe next time I should start studying before the day before. Just a thought, you know.
I also managed to skip class on Thursday. I can explain. My sociology class was told that we wouldn't have to come in on Thursday if we didn't want to, and I definitely didn't want to. I still had Modern Japan that day, but I planned to just go in later. I was going to take the bus that would give me half an hour to get to class from the bus station. That would be plenty of time. It's only a fifteen minute walk. The only problem was that I got so incredibly wrapped up in Doctor Who that I ended up missing the bus I was going to take. That wasn't a huge problem though. If I took the next bus, I would get to class just in time. Except for the the fact the second bus I had to take ended up being late. I would only have been a few minutes late to class, but I've recently developed a neurotic aversion to being late. So much that I'd sooner skip class.
You know, that story was even more boring typed up than it was in my head.
